Pine Needle Baskets are made from the needles of  the  Ponderosa Pine is also known as Western Yellow Pine,  Bull Pine, Ponderosa Pine and Rock Pine. It was named Ponderosa Pine because of its ponderosa size. The Ponderosa is the only native British Columbia pine with bundles of three needles. Ponderosa Pine average about 25 to 30 meters tall but can reach up to  50 meters tall and 2 meters in diameter.

RAFFIA:   Raffia, which is used to sew pine needles into their many forms, comes from the Raffia Palm of Madagascar, an island off the east cost of Africa
