About Rosemarie Foster
Rosemarie Yerbury
Foster began her interest in the visual arts in 1954 in
Cloverdale, BC Canada. She has been particularly drawn towards
the oil paint medium choosing flora and fauna as her
primary subject.
As an adult Rosemarie returned to her artistic
studies. Her starting pint was with the Art Instruction School
of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has also studied with the
northern Light School of Art and developed her understanding of
colour theory with instruction provided by the Emily Carr
Institute of Art and Design. Dedicated to searching for her own
voice as an artist she has also studied under other artists to
explore their techniques as route to her own self-discovery.
These workshops included Tom Lynch, Gaye Adams (SFCA),
Debbie Milner (AFCA) and Janice Robertson (SFCA).
Currently Rosemarie utilizing the mediums of
acrylics, watercolours, Oil' s, Indian Ink and pastels to create
soft pastoral moods communicate her love of nature and the South
Thompson-Kamloops region where she has resided with her husband
for 38 years.
Rosemarie is a
member of the Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts, Kamloops Art
Gallery, Art Council of Kamloops and Federation of Canadian
Artist Vancouver where she has achieved her Active Member
Stasis. Rosemarie is the Founder of the Thompson, Nicola, Shuswap,
Federation of Canadian Artist chapter.
Examples of
Rosemarie's work hang in homes and businesses locally as well as
in Ireland, Japan, Australia and Alberta.
